Volcano Response

The volcano symbolism was such a simple but powerful metaphor for the changes in the war. I think that the symbolism was done in such an unusual way that it stuck me all the more. Landscape symbolism seems unusually, when thinking of landscape you normally think of a strictly real space, or in some occasions one entirely imaginary. The use of natural elements to get a point of change and rebirth across struck a chord in me personally. Volcanoes are not only destruction but a form of revitalizing the land. The fact that the destruction was inevitable and looming over the land catches attention, but also the promise of a rebuilt, healthier country speaks strongly. The color is vibrant and pleasurable to look at, captivating attention.
