Mike Kelley

I found his approach to art rally interesting, especially the tapestry with the stuffed animals, I wonderful like to see it in person. He was a wacky guy and I respect that. He was odd one in that even when he made a great amount of money he was happy in second hand clothes and his father's old shoes. But suited his style too, of things that are forgotten. It was interesting too that he was inspired by Warhol's pop work and struggled to go into less pleasant aspects society and explore darker concepts with the same sort of theme. His death was sad, and the fact that he had a picture of his ex-girlfriend denotes several emotional issues hat he couldn't deal with.

Critique

The critique helped out a lot. It made me think more about the text, somthing I struggled with through out the piece. I was reassured by teh fact that it wasn't totally hated, though I could understand some of the reservations of the design. I might go back and chnage the text, giving it some extensive thought.

Helvetica

You never notice things in the world around you, things like type is one of them. Perosnally type doesn't mean much to to me, but perhaps it will in the future. The film makes a poitn about the form of helvetica and its place in our world. The form is simple and speaks to all, no one things about it or how the text on a product influences them to buy it or not.  It'wierd little things that influence us most. Though it seems difficult to imgaine the improtance of a text font in the world. The form is unisveral and applies to all languages and people for its simplicity.
